Susan Meehan, Executive Director

Ms. Meehan draws on more than a decade’s professional experience to direct ATPP’s staff and strategic planning efforts. She works collaboratively with the South Carolina Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy (SCCPTP), state and local government agencies, and other non-profits to improve the welfare of Aiken County’s youth.

She also teaches ATPP’s Parent Power classes and is certified to teach two extensively evaluated and nationally acclaimed “Best Practice” curriculum, Teen Outreach Program and Stewards of Children. Prior to joining ATPP, Ms. Meehan provided adolescent pregnancy prevention technical assistance to nine South Carolina communities as one of SCCPTP’s Regional Coordinators; coordinated pregnancy prevention, smoking cessation, nutrition and fitness programs for the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control; and developedand taught health education curricula in the Maryland public schools. Ms. Meehan graduated with Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Maryland and Millersville University, respectively.

 

Marion Crotty, Business Manager

Ms. Crotty manages ATPP’s finances; tracks grant- and contract-related funding and spending; and coordinates all other of the organization’s administrative services. She has more than 28 years accounting experience and is a graduate of John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR. Ms. Crotty has a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

  

Sondra Thomas, Positive Outcomes-Community and Baby Think It Over Coordinator

Ms. Thomas coordinates ATPP’s Positive Outcomes-Community initiative and the Baby Think It Over Program. Positive Outcomes-Community aims to prevent teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), among at-risk, youth by promoting abstinence and educating youth on making responsible decisions about sexual activity. Baby Think It Over utilizes computerized infant simulators, in conjunction with other in-class curricula, to give youth a taste of the 24/7 demands of parenting. Prior to joining ATPP, Ms. Thomas served as Interim Director for the Aiken County Department of Juvenile Justice. She has more than 17 years experience working with at-risk youth and their families, law enforcement, schools, the faith community, and numerous governmental agencies. Ms. Thomas is a graduate of South Carolina State University.

 

Jennifer Wilhoit, Positive Outcomes Coordinator

Ms. Wilhoit coordinates ATPP’s Positive Outcomes-Clinic initiative at the Aiken County Health Department. She counsels teens (male and female) who visit the Adult Health Clinic for pregnancy tests and STD testing. She provides basic, accurate reproductive health information; encourages clients to return to abstinence or discuss pregnancy and STD prevention with a medical professional; and assesses contraception compliance by making follow-up calls (to each client) at regular intervals. Ms. Wilhoit’s previous employment experience includes working with at-risk youth at the Department of Juvenile Justice and working with state agencies to regulate private providers of human health services. Ms. Wilhoit is a graduate of the University of South Carolina-Aiken with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.
